Youth Players Page
Mixed football competition is for both boys and girls aged 12 to 18. However, many girls choose to move into the Girls Only Sunday competition in their teen years. Some girls, love their football so much, they play both!
Junior competition football is a big step up from MiniRoos! Therefore, in 2021, the format of U12’s in NSFA will change to small sided matches of 9 v 9. More details of how this will work and the benefits for player development can be found here.
U13-U18 matches are played on a full field, 11 v 11, the only differences are the ball size and length of matches depending on the age group. Whilst competition is now important, scores are kept and results tables are published, the focus at LFC remains on developing skills, team spirit and sportsmanship. Good outcomes will come.
LFC has a very structured grading process to ensure that all players are competing in the most suitable divisions against players of a similar ability. The Development Program is designed for those players wishing to improve their skills and compete at the highest level of community football. All interested players are invited to try out for Super League (for Mixed) and Diamond League (Girls) and our Development Squads.
LFC is a large club so we generally field teams at all levels with places found for most. Those players who enjoy the social side of football and want to Play with Friends are also able to be accommodated in most cases.
For young members who are interested in coaching and those who want to get involved in volunteering at the club, these opportunities generally start in Year 8 or 9.
Team spirit is at the heart of what we do at LFC! With that in mind, we have introduced a football regional tour called Country Cousins, for our social teams & development squad players in the U10-U14 age groups. We have found that a fun weekend away, playing the sport you love, is a great team bonding experience for our players (and their parents) and wish to extend the opportunity to all boys and girls.
Our Age Coordinators are all volunteer parents like yourselves, so please value the precious time they are giving to our football community and please read the information on our website - most answers can be found here. If you still need assistance, you can contact your relevant Age Coordinator (AC) via the email address - Contact Us.
