With an incredible seven teams competing in this weekend’s Football NSW Champion of Champions, Northern Suburbs Football Association (NSFA) side Lindfield FC will be looking towards finishing the season strong in the hope of capturing as many titles as possible.
Known for being one of the most successful clubs in the NSFA, Lindfield FC will feature in an incredible seven matches at Valentine Sports Park including the 13 Girls, 14 Girls, 15 Girls, 16 Boys, 18 Women’s, 18 Men’s and the All Age Men’s.
“The success we have had this year has been many years in the making,” said Lindfield FC Coaching Director Paul Grundy.
“The environment we have created, not just for the teams that have made the finals, but for all our teams is one that is anchored on enjoying the game and making strong friendships.
“We should also recognise our coaching team. All bar one of the coaches have grown up playing their football with Lindfield and have developed their coaching skills with the club. They have the Lindfield DNA in their system and this passion for the club comes through in their teams – in the way they play and the way they conduct themselves.
“One story from last year sums it all up. After the 16 Girls Champion of Champions Final last year, in which our team won, the coach saw a couple of the girls looking bit sad. He approached them and asked them why. Their response was instantaneous. We’re sad because we have no more training this year, we are going to miss it.”
Lindfield FC President Mark Pittman was equally as proud to be witnessing seven of his clubs’ fight for a chance to be crowned the best team in NSW in their respective age group.
“Lindfield Football Club is buzzing with excitement as we celebrate the incredible achievement of having seven teams qualify for the prestigious Champion of Champions Finals,” said Pittman.
“I am immensely proud of the dedication and commitment demonstrated by our teams and their coaches. This remarkable success showcases not only their hard work, but also the invaluable contributions of our dedicated volunteers and families, highlighting our club’s commitment to grassroots football in New South Wales.
“Our club’s philosophy emphasises fostering a love for the game while encouraging players to learn, develop, and support one another.
“To all of our teams competing this weekend, remember that we are proud of your accomplishments – most importantly, have fun.”
